Each month, we'll saddle up next to some "local experts" on the topic and ask them to give us something BIG to think about. Consider it your own personal key to unlock the power of the Big Idea in your home! May - Forgiveness   description This month the KidStuf Parent Podkast features two interviews. The first is with Brian and Tracy Martin, a married couple who attend one of our campuses. February - Wisdom   description This month the KidStuf Parent Podkast welcomes Lane Jones, Campus Director of Browns Bridge Community Church. January - Obedience   description This month, the KidStuf Parent Podkast welcomes Sean Seay (Lead pastor of Athens Church, one of North Point Ministries Strategic Partner Churches) to discuss the Big Idea of "OBEDIENCE: Trusting those who lead you, by doing what you’re asked." Hebrews 13:17 says: “Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. December - Generosity   description This month, the KidStuf Parent Podkast welcomes Andy Stanley (senior pastor of the campuses of North Point, Buckhead, and Browns Bridge Churches) to discuss the Big Idea of "GENEROSITY: Givin' what you've got, 'cause you've got a lot!" I Timothy 6:18 says: "Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." So, whether you are giving of the intangible blessings in your life, such as grace and kindness; or you are being generous with the tangible blessings, such as possessions and money. This month we are talking about having a generous heart and how to "be rich" with how we treat all the blessings in our life. November - Gratitude   description This month, the KidStuf Parent Podkast welcomes John Woodall (North Point Ministries' Director of Married Group) to discuss the Big Idea of "GRATITUDE: living each day in a thankful way!" First Chronicles 16:34 says: "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." Reflecting this passage and "giving thanks" is something that we need to intentionally do as a family instead of wait for it to just happen. As with most learned disciplines, we, as parents, will model the way. Regardless of if traffic flows, the lawnmower actually cranks, the stock market rises, or the doctor's report comes back with good news, our default response to God is to be gratitude. October - Self-Control   description This month, Buckhead Church campus director, Jeff Henderson joins us to chat about the Big Idea of "SELF-CONTROL: Taking a step back to choose how you act!" Time and time again, the Bible reminds us that God has given us the ability to choose the words that we say, how our anger and temptation presents itself, or if we allow our priorities to become upside-down. Every day gives us opportunities to "be devoured" by our own lack of control when our job frustrates, the kids argue, the finances don't cooperate, or traffic snarls. In addition, the pressure is on for us, as parents, because impressionable eyes of our kids are watching and following our examples.
